Great Barrier Reef: Take a short boat ride out to one of the most famous coral reefs in the world, the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns Esplanade Lagoon: Endure the summer heat in one of Cairn’s most iconic tourist locations, the Esplanade Lagoon. The 5000 square meter body of water provides a safe and salty swimming location for visitors all year round. Tan on the sand bordering the lagoon or sit back in the shade provided by the trees or timber decks. Either way, the lagoon will provide am authentic Australian “beach” experience.
