What can you bring into New Zealand?

When filling out your New Zealand Traveller Declaration before arriving in New Zealand, you must declare any items that could be classified as a risk to New Zealand’s biosecurity. Items deemed risky include: food, plants, wooden products, soil, water, outdoor equipment, and animal products.

NOTE: These items are prohibited: endangered animal or plant species.

You must place any undeclared items in the amnesty bins you’ll see after picking up your luggage and before passing through bio biosecurity. There's time to do this before you get to security.
