Grasmere Lodge, Arthurs Pass
Stunning scenery surrounds this gracious lodge, set in the heart of NZ’s Southern Alps. Guests of Grasmere Lodge - a working farm since 1858 - may enjoy all the mountains of this region have to offer or simply enjoy the space & serenity.
Just 90 minutes from Christchurch airport Grasmere is tucked into a powerful mountain landscape that will leave you with lasting memories. The 1858 limestone house has been retained within the Homestead which features character rooms such as the library, lounge, bar and evening dining rooms. Arthur’s Pass National Park, with its many lakes and rivers, borders Grasmere offering a range of activities. Whether you relax beside the heated swimming pool or in the spa studio, or turn your energies to tennis, kayaking, mountain biking or the seasonal farm activities, you can be assured of one thing – unfaltering personal attention.
Grasmere Station became well known for offering warm hospitality to travelers en route to make their fortune during the 1860s gold rush on the West Coast. Today genuine NZ hospitality remains an integral part of Grasmere. Tom Butler, lodge proprietor, began his tenure with the lodge before the doors opened to the public in 1995 and has since called Grasmere home.
