ITINERARY OVERVIEW:

Destinations:     Beqa Island

No. of days:      8 days

Spend a week in paradise on Beqa Island, Fiji – away from it all!  You’ll find no roads or towns and only a few isolated villages.  Your home for the week is at Beqa Lagoon Resort a secluded, intimate island retreat.  If you are a diver, the resort is rated as one of the top dive resorts in the world by Scuba Diving Magazine. It is surrounded by over 190 miles of spectacular coral reef on one of the World’s largest barrier reefs. If you are not a diver, the resort has activities such as hiking, walking, surfing, fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming.  Enjoy Fijian cultural activities, listen to stories of old, told through dance and song in Meke nights and see fire walking. Learn how to weave coconut leaves, cook a traditional Fijian dish and take part in a Kava Ceremony.  Feel yourself totally relaxing into island time.

DAY BY DAY:

Day 1:    Arrive in Fiji, transfer to your accommodation at Beqa Lagoon Resort by resort arranged land transfer (2.5 hours) from Nadi International Airport to Pacific Harbour followed by a 45 minutes boat transfer to resort.  Beqa Lagoon Resort is an intimate resort and the only resort on the tiny, unspoilt island of Beqa. The most striking feature of Beqa Lagoon Resort is its seclusion. Beqa island has no roads or towns but only a few isolated villages scattered around the perimeter. (7 nights Beqa)

Day 2:   You have today at leisure.  You can explore the surrounding area on your own and enjoy the resort amenities.  Enjoy snorkeling and kayaking or take a guided kayaking or fishing tour. Feel the warmth of Beqa while lounging poolside with a refreshing tropical beverage or unwind with a soothing massage at the Lali Spa. If you are interested in diving this is the place to be.  Surrounded by over 190 miles of spectacular coral reef on one of the World’s largest barrier reefs, Beqa Lagoon Resort offers divers a gateway to a wonderland of marine life and some of the best diving in Fiji, the soft coral capital of the World.

Day 3:  You have today at leisure.  We can recommend taking part in a Kava Ceremony.  One of the guests will be designated as chief while you all participate in a traditional kava ceremony. Kava is Fiji’s national drink and you will learn about its historical origins and its place in Fiji today. Once you share a bowl of kava together you are friends for life.

Day 4:    You have today at leisure.  You could hike to a waterfall.  Begin your tour hiking up through the hills, studying the natural fauna and wildlife  You arrive at a beautiful natural spring water waterfall where you can swim away the afternoon under the cooling Nawaisomo waters followed by an enjoyable picnic lunch.

Day 5:  You have today at leisure.  We can recommend a tour to Secret Island.  Secret Island is a small, beautiful atoll about a 20 minutes boat ride from Beqa Lagoon Resort. It has white gold sand and sky-blue water. The abundance of beautiful shallow sand around this reef means the visibility perfect for snorkeling. You are likely to see schooling fish, rays, eels, turtles and friendly reef sharks. This trip is unique because the island appears only for a few hours a day and then disappears.

Day 6:  You have today at leisure.  If you haven’t already take in some live Fijian entertainment tonight.  Every night you are lured further into paradise with traditional dance performances or songs given with genuine heartfelt enthusiasm. Most nights the Beqa Bula Band are strumming on their guitars with their gifted voices filling the warm night air with their beautiful song, serenading you through dinner or while you enjoy a nightcap watching the moonlight dance on the water.

Day 7:  You have today at leisure to relax, explore or enjoy island activities such as a coconut show, Fijian cooking show, learn Fijian mat weaving and more to pick from depending on what you feel like doing.

All of the sample itineraries on this website do not include airfares as the airfare price changes daily and to ensure you get the best possible price we will work with the best airfares at the time.  If you happen to buy your airfare first and then need a package to fit it, we can certainly help with that as well, just let us know.

As an idea for a 2-week vacation to Australia or New Zealand we recommend a budget of around $8,000-10,000 (including economy airfare), this would be for a 4 star and above itinerary, a little cheaper if we did more moderate accommodations.
