The weather was good the whole time, and the only day of rain was when we did the kayak trip on Doubtful Sound. It was great because the rain caused lots of pretty waterfalls! She also has great knowledge of the various tours and travel options available for Australia. Best of all is Mandy's ability to take our vague, half-baked ideas about what we wanted to do in Australia (e.g., "we want to see some kangaroos") and transform them into a very detailed and sensible itinerary. It was only after we worked with other travel agents for another trip that we really appreciated Mandy. She really fills in the blanks better than anyone else that we have worked with. It was certainly a worthwhile trip! It was a new experience going from Winter to Summer in the matter of a couple of days. It wasn't just the warmth, we went from a 10-hour day to a 17-hour day once we were in New Zealand. Instant Summer also helped us recover from our Winter colds. The one thing I will say, is that it is a great place to visit. It is surprisingly affordable, and it's a great Winter get away (flowers, fresh vegetables, warm weather, beautiful Summer scenery), but be prepared for about 18 hours in an airplane from the East coast. Our travel agent was Downunder Journeys and I highly recommend them.

So sorry we have not written before to tell you what an outstanding trip we had. Your advice about having pre-arrangements for airport pickups and drop-offs and breakfasts was excellent. They made our trip ever so much easier. The laundry facilities were another huge help.
We also enjoyed the activities you arranged for us. We went snorkeling in Fiji at Mala Mala island and it was everything we hoped for -- and more! We have never seen so many fish anywhere. And the coral was beautiful. A perfect day in paradise.
Thanks again for your help and advice. Your knowledge made this the trip of a lifetime for us. We would be happy to recommend you to our friends when they ask us about our trip.

The vouchers were assembled in chronological order and as we headed to an activity I would consult my itinerary and voucher booklet and the next voucher I needed would be on top. Our itinerary was complete and detailed and any questions we did have were answered very quickly and thoroughly. We feel like we took the honeymoon of a lifetime. |

As you know we were robbed while on one of our excisions. My passport and all my ID was taken along with my husband's camera and all our films from the South Island. We had a wonderful time in Australia. Our best day was scuba diving at the reef. Dave and I were all over the place and loved it!! THe whole trip was great though. We loved Melbourne, the train car meal, Hamilton Island, exploring Sydney and taking the ferry to Tasmania. Tasmania was a once in a lifetime experience and we had a wonderful time hiking Dove Lake Trail at Cradle Mountain. Our tour guide for the great Ocean Road trip was excellent and alot of fun. It was a wonderful experience and we have great pics. |

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to NZ. Mandy Mathis helped me plan and organize our trip (several times), as our plans kept changing. Each time I called to tell her our dates had changed she just said "no problem- let me check the new dates for you". She was so helpful and patient in assisting us with our tickets, trip insurance and the countless questions we had . We are back to routine, over jet lag and through the pile of paper work. I really want to tell you what a wonderful job you did on putting together our trip to Australia and New Zealand. The details of all the flights, the accomadations, the land transportations, the city tours, the wildlife tours and the hikes were done by a master. We can't thank you enough for booking us on the Milford Track hike. That was the best. I also loved the Able Tasman hike and the hike on the Fox Glacier. Truthfully there wasn't any part of the trip I didn't like!! |
